Craft Market in Going – Lived Tradition and Tyrolean Atmosphere
The craft market, a fixed point in the summer events of Goinger, has long since become a tradition in its own right. Nearly forgotten crafts such as pilot hammering, quill stitching, doggl making, or turning are passionately preserved and maintained here. Those who wish can watch the Wallner brothers bring the centuries-old lathe back to life, or discover how doggls are made with Helga. In some places, you can even get hands-on and try out an old skill.
The market is framed by authentic folk music – with harp, dulcimer, zither, alphorn players, and accordion – as well as traditional songs and lively Schuhplattlers. The Goinger farmers' wives treat visitors to tasty Tyrolean farmhouse cuisine, cooked from natural products from garden and field. Try homemade specialties like Kasspatzln, Brodakrapfen, or Germkiachln.
From 8:00 PM the Bundesmusikkapelle Going will perform, delighting audiences with a musically diverse program of traditional and modern pieces.
The market begins at 5:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM. Experience this special, atmospheric setting together with the people of Going – entry is free! The craft markets take place in all weather conditions.
